GREENVILLE, S.C. (April 23)—Michelin Americas Small Tires will increase prices by an average of 3 percent July 5 on Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal and its private and associate brand passenger and light truck tires sold in the U.S. replacement market.
MAST's move follows a number of other tire makers that have announced price hikes in the last several weeks mainly due to rising raw materials costs. Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., Continental Tire North America Inc., Toyo Tire USA Corp. and Yokohama Tire Corp. all announced tire price hikes, effective June 1, while Goodyear said it planned to raise tire prices May 1 on all of its brands in various segments.
