PRAGUE, Czech Republic (April 8)—General Motors Corp. has awarded Bridgestone Corp., Pirelli S.p.A. and Continental A.G.'s ContiTech Vibration Control GmbH unit Supplier of the Year status for 2003.
GM recognized 77 suppliers with Supplier of the Year awards April 4 at a presentation ceremony in Prague. This is the 12th year GM has presented the awards, which are based on performance in quality, service, technology and price.
For Bridgestone, this is the ninth consecutive year and 11th in 12 years that it has been so honored. The company's Bridgestone TG Australia subsidiary also was honored.
"Pirelli is representative of the type of company we want to grow with as we drive to be the best worldwide," said Bo Andersson, vice president of GM Worldwide Purchasing Production Control & Logistics. "The company has a balanced focus on performance and behavior that supports GM's priorities. They are a role model for all of our suppliers."
This is the third GM award for ContiTech Vibration Control.
