EAST YORKSHIRE, England (Feb. 17)—Fenner P.L.C. has bought Indico (Europe) Ltd., a manufacturer of specialist rubber hoses primarily for commercial vehicles, opened a hose plant in Shanghai, China, and expanded a hose distribution center in the U.S.
Belting and hose maker Fenner paid $5.3 million for Indico, which reports annual sales of about $6.5 million from sales of hoses made at its Poynton, England, factory. Indico will become part of Fenner's James Dawson & Son Ltd. subsidiary.
The deal will allow James Dawson to complement its existing product line of high-performance silicone with a wider range of more standard elastomer-based hoses, the company said.
Besides its factory in Poynton, Indico operates a plant in Savannah, Ga.
