AKRON (Feb. 12)—Net income for Myers Industries Inc. dropped 32 percent for 2003 to just under $24 million on record sales of $661.1 million, which was 9 percent higher than 2002. The company said prices for high-density polyethylene, one of the company´s key raw materials, were 36 percent higher last year than the year before.
For the fourth quarter, net income rose 8 percent to $4.35 million and sales jumped 11 percent to a record $176.5 million.
