NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 30)—Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc. will be the official tire company of the Chicago Auto Show Feb. 6-15. It is the first of a three-year commitment by the company to participate in North America's largest consumer automotive show.
The company will have a two-story display that will feature breakthroughs in vehicle systems and tire design, as well as the Bridgestone group's success in motorsports.
Racing legend Mario Andretti will have an autograph session on Feb. 7, with Bobby Rahal and Andrew Firestone, great grandson of Firestone founder Harvey Firestone, appearing Feb. 8.
Feature vehicles in the display area will include: the Firestone Firehawk show car, which typified an Indy Racing League car; Michael Schumacher´s Formula One show car, equipped with Bridgestone Potenza race tires; and a special Subaru Sti, fitted with Fuzion Zri, the company's newest tire line targeting the sport compact car and tuner markets.
