GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Jan. 27)—Leonard R. Slott, vice president and general manager of Vi-Chem Corp. for the past eight years, has purchased the company and been named president.
The Grand Rapids-based maker of thermoplastic elastomer and engineered vinyl compounds and alloys said the buyout establishes the 22-year-old company as a stand-alone entity, severing its ties with prior owner Nicholas Plastics Inc.
Slott said he plans to expand Vi-Chem's global sales reach, strengthening its research and development capabilities, and increasing sales of its materials to both automotive and non-automotive markets.
