TOKYO (Jan. 23)—Rising costs of natural rubber and other raw materials have spurred Bridgestone Corp. to announce price increases on tire products in Asia, Oceania, the Middle East, Africa and Russia.
Bridgestone said prices are rising about 5 percent, with the hikes varying by product and market. The increases apply to Bridgestone- and Firestone-brand tires for passenger cars, light trucks, trucks and buses.
The hikes are being implemented in stages from Jan. 1.
