NORTHBORO, Mass. (Dec. 22)—Compagnie de Saint-Gobain subsidiary Saint-Gobain High-Performance Materials has completed a $2 million expansion of its Northboro research and development center.
The expansion increases the size of the center by about 25 percent to 125,000 square feet and encompasses a nearby building owned by the French-based firm. The operation focuses on polyners and composites for products used in the automotive, aerospace, computer, health care and microelectronics industries. The expansion allows the firm to concentrate more on the plastics end of its business.
Saint-Gobain also has expanded its R&D facility in Cree, France, and will open a research center in China within the next year.
