MIDLAND, Mich. (Dec. 12)—Silicone and silicon materials supplier Dow Corning Corp. has promoted Stephanie A. Burns, 48, to president and CEO, taking over the CEO duties Jan. 1 from Gary E. Anderson, who retains the chairman reins.
With Dow Corning since 1983, Burns has been president and chief operating officer since February 2003. Prior to that, she was executive vice president and on Dow Corning's board of directors for three years, with responsibility for science and technology, marketing and sales. In her early years with the firm, she was in research and product development. She held overseas assignments from 1997-2000. Anderson, 58, has 35 years experience with Dow Corning, including four years as CEO and two as chairman.
