LOS ANGLES (Dec. 4)—A Goodyear blimp, carrying the pilot and a cameraman, crashed while trying to land at an airport south of Los Angeles at about 10 p.m. Wednesday.
The pilot and cameraman were not seriously injured, a company spokeswoman said. "They were returning from a TV assignment," she said. "The aircraft sustained some damage during the night landing. We're conducting an investigation and cooperating with local authorities."
She did not say what caused the crash, and until the investigation is completed, she said the company won't comment further. However, reports out of California said the blimp crashed into a semi truck at the airport, located in Carson, Calif., and one of the two occupants was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
