FULLERTON, Calif. (Dec. 2)—Yokohama Tire Corp. said it will boost prices 3-5 percent on its commerical tire lines Jan. 1. The increase will include light truck commercial, medium radial truck and off-the-road tires. The Japanese-owned company blamed escalating expenses, including higher raw material, labor and insurance costs, for the increase. Other tire makers that recently announced price hikes include Contienntal Tire North America Inc., Michelin North America Inc., Goodyear and Bridgestone/Firestone.
