GUTTENBERG, N.J. (Nov. 7)—Tire recycler Recovery Technologies Group Inc. is restructuring its operations while increasing its crumb rubber production in Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Saskatchewan, according to RTG President Martin Sergi. Among the reorganizations are a restructuring of its Florida scrap tire collection operations, based on the failure of a deal to buy a bankrupt tire recycling company there, and a new executive structure that includes a new chief operating officer, Tim Grady, and the layoff of Southeast Regional Manager Ted Bernhardt. "We will expand at a slower pace, but we intend to keep expanding our crumb rubber operations, and we most certainly intend to process more tires," Sergi said. The privately held company processes 40 million tires a year, and currently has 11 processing facilities, six warehouses and 550 employees, he added.
