AKRON (Nov. 3)—Specialty chemicals producer Eliokem Inc. is raising the prices of its Chemigum elastomers in the U.S. and Canada by as much as 5 percent, depending on the grade. The company said the Jan. 1 increase is needed because of hikes in raw materials, energy and government regulation compliance costs. The Chemigum modifiers are powdered nitrile elastomers used in applications such as automotive molding and profiles, shoe soles, building gaskets and calendered goods.
