NEWMARKET, Ontario (Oct. 30)—Workers at AirBoss of America Corp.´s Acton International Inc. subsidiary have accepted a new four-year labor contract, ending an eight-week work stoppage at Acton´s Acton Vale, Quebec, plant. Production should resume Nov. 3 and be back to normal within a week, AirBoss said. The new pact calls for annual wage increases of 1.5, 2, 2.5 and 3 percent throughout the four years. The pact was ratified on Oct. 29 by a 79-percent margin. The work stoppage will combine with other negative business issues to drive AirBoss´ third-quarter result to approximately break-even, the firm said.
