LEBANON, Tenn. (Oct. 28)—Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire L.L.C. has opened a distribution center in Lebanon to service customers in the mid-South U.S. The new site enables Bridgestone/Firestone to expand and centralize its distribution network in the South, the tire maker said in a release, and employs more than 200 people. The 750,000-sq.-ft. distribution center, Bridgestone/Firestone's largest in the U.S., has capacity for more than 1 million tires, ranging in size from small passenger and industrial to large off-road tires. The center will serve as a short-term holding area as tires spend less than four weeks at the site before shipment to their final destination, the tire maker said.
