MIDLAND, Mich. (Oct. 21)—Dow Corning Corp. and Rohm and Haas Co. have formed a strategic alliance geared to "address unmet needs" in areas such as wound care and transdermal and topical drug delivery, as well as other related medical device applications, the companies announced Oct. 21. The partnership between the firms will simplify product and application development for customers and allow one-stop shopping for health care customers requiring acrylic, silicone and hybrid solutions, said Suzanne Rowland, vice president and global business director for Rohm and Haas' Adhesives and Sealants business. The alliance is the first to combine this amount of knowledge of acrylic and silicone technologies, the companies said. The integrated expertise will allow each firm to "expand current product applications to new customers and develop new product applications to meet customer needs," said John Lyon, Dow Corning Life Sciences business director.
