LOGANSPORT, Ind. (Oct. 6)—Discussions between Trelleborg YSH Inc. and the unions representing workers at its Logansport plant continue, but the company already has moved some production from the facility, said Larry Lewis, Trelleborg vice president of human resources. A "handful" of people were laid off late this summer when Trelleborg transferred production of a few parts and the equipment needed to make them to the company's nearby plant in Peru, Ind., he said. Trelleborg expects to move more production, equipment and jobs "in the near future," Lewis added. The manufacturer met for a third time late in September with the unions representing hourly workers at the plant. Trelleborg will meet again with United Steelworkers of America Local 798 and Teamsters Local 135 Oct. 20.
