WASHINGTON (Sept. 8)—The Rubber Manufacturers Association has announced the formation of a new scrap tire industry ad hoc committee on coarse rubber. The committee, which continues a program begun last year at the 2002 Rubber Recycling Conference in Montreal, will work to promote markets for coarse rubber and establish voluntary industry guidelines for quality assurance of the raw material and finished product, the RMA said. Besides the association, committee members include Scrap Tire News, Columbus McKinnon Corp., JaiTire Inc., Emanuel Tire Co., BAS Recycling and Liberty Tire.
