AKRON—Stephen E. Myers has been named chairman and CEO of Myers Industries Inc., while Milton I. Wiskind was selected as vice chairman and secretary, and John C. Orr president and chief operating officer.
Stephen Myers had been president and CEO since 1984. He fills the chairman post that has been vacant since Louis S. Myers left the position in 1993. Stephen Myers joined the company in 1967, became vice president in 1973, executive vice president in 1977 and president and chief operating officer in 1980.
Wiskind has spent nearly 50 years with the company. He was a founding partner of Myers Tire Supply in 1956, and later a shareholder and vice president of Myers Tire. He was named vice president of Myers Industries in 1968, a director and secretary of the corporation in 1971, and president of Myers Tire Supply in 1973.
In 1982, Wiskind was appointed senior vice president of Myers Industries.
Orr already is chief operating officer of Myers Industries. He joined the firm as general manger of the Buckhorn subsidiary in 2000, and before that spent 28 years with Goodyear in a number of engineering and management positions.
