NEWMARKET, Ontario (Aug. 13)—Intier Automotive Inc. has granted Toyoda Gosei Co. Ltd. a global license to produce and market its Pur-Fect Skin technology for automotive interior applications. The sprayed-on outer skin can be used to cover instrument panels, door trim and floor consoles and features. In addition to its tactile feel and grain reproduction features, the technology has superior heat and light-stability characteristics, Intier said. Toyoda Gosei´s first contract for the material will be for the instrument panel of a future vehicle built in Japan, Intier said. The contract enhances Intier's ability to compete for global vehicle programs, the company said.
