LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (July 15)—Trostel Specialty Elastomers Group Ltd. has purchased Techniplas Inc. for an undisclosed amount to expand its rubber and plastics molding business. The addition gives Trostel a much broader range of custom molded thermoplastic products and significantly extends its press range. The combined company will be named Trostel SEG and generate sales of about $30 million with a work force of almost 200. No employee reductions or relocations are planned. Techniplas will become a division of Trostel and continue to operate out of its manufacturing facility in Ankeny, Iowa. Trostel designs and manufactures a variety of custom molded cast urethane, thermoplastic and thermoplastic elastomer goods and assemblies for the automotive, hand and power tool, lawn and garden, and appliance industries. Techniplas serves the automotive, heavy truck, fitness, medical and general industrial markets.
