MEMPHIS, Tenn. (July 7)—Private brand tire marketer Del-Nat Tire Corp., looking to expand the commercial tire side of its business, is joining forces with a Chinese import and distribution company for future development of products, services and logistics. Memphis-based Del-Nat has allied itself with Old Bridge, N.J.-based Superstone Tire Co. Ltd., which is the agent for six Chinese tire companies as well as the marketer of its own Superstone brand. Separately, Del-Nat has secured through Superstone exclusive rights for the sale and distribution in North America of the Long March medium truck radial, made by Chaoyan Long March Tyre Co. Ltd. in Chaoyan, China. The companies did not put a value on the contract, but Del-Nat said the deal would expand measurably the commercial tire side of its business, which represents 20 percent of annual sales. "There is exponential growth potential in the medium radial truck segment," said Aaron C. Murphy, vice president of commercial products, "and it's an area where our shareholders are eager to expand their business."
