NEW CASTLE, Ind. (June 27) — Rubber injection molder American Keeper Corp. has purchased a 55,000-sq.-ft. facility in New Castle to house its administrative and manufacturing operations. The plant primarily will produce molded rubber boots for constant velocity joints in automobiles. When the new manufacturing site is operational, it will produce about 10,000 boots per day on a three-shifts-per-day, five-days-per-week schedule. The plant strictly will supply North American customers. The firm was established in November 2001 as Japanese rubber company Keeper Co. Ltd.'s U.S. arm, operating out of a small headquarters/sales office in Mooresville, N.C.
