NOTTINGHAM, England (June 2)—Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co. Ltd. is upgrading and expanding rubber mixing capacity at plants in China, Taiwan and Thailand, according to Chronos Richardson, which is supplying the materials handling equipment for the projects. The most significant of the three projects is a $1.5 million contract for weighing and feeding systems for four mixing lines at the company's new $50 million Rayon, Thailand, passenger tire plant, due on stream in mid- to late 2004. In China, Chronos Richardson's Batching Systems Group will supply complete mixer feeding systems for the masterbatch and final mix compounding lines at the Cheng Shin-Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. (China) Co. plant in Kunshan City. The final contract is for weighing and feeding systems for Cheng Shin's Yuanlin, Taiwan, plant. Chronos Richardson will deliver the lines in September and October. Nottingham-based Chronos Richardson is a business unit of Premier Tech Ltd. of Riviere-du-Loup, Quebec.
