CLEVELAND (May 2)—Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s automotive unit said it will end original equipment production of exterior vehicle trim at its Cleveland plant but continue to produce service parts there. The OE production is being transferred to the firm´s Griffin, Ga., facility. Cooper-Standard Automotive will lay off an undetermined number of its 31 salaried employees at the Cleveland plant and 182 hourly workers who are represented by the United Steelworkers of America. Layoffs will begin in July and continue through January as OE production there winds down, Cooper-Standard said.
