NOKIA, Finland (April 28)—Nokian Tyres P.L.C. has scaled back the sales targets for its Amtel-Nokian Tyres L.L.C. venture in Russia, according to the official registration documents relating to the venture. Amtel-Nokian Tyres, a 50-50 Nokian-Amtel Holdings joint venture, starts operations immediately, with a target of selling 600,000 Nordman-branded tires in 2003 and 2 million tires in 2004. These figures are below the targets of 900,000 tires in 2003 and 3.6 million in 2004 that were published when the companies unveiled their venture in December.
