CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (April 23)—Nathaniel Energy Corp. has completed the acquisition of Keyes Helium and related assets from El Paso Corp. The $9.9 million deal includes El Paso's interest in Keyes Helium and related compression, processing and gathering facilities owned by affiliates of El Paso. Under the deal, Nathaniel Energy said it could become one of the largest independent helium producers in the U.S. because of its ability to decrease costs by creating lower-cost energy and nitrogen. Nathaniel projects Keyes' profits for 2003 will be about $2.4 million on sales of $7.5 million.
