STEWARTVILLE, Minn. (April 22)—Rochester Medical Corp. had record sales of $3.72 million—up nearly 46 percent from the same period last year—for its second quarter ended March 31, the company announced April 21. The medical goods manufacturer posted net income of $142,000 for the quarter, an improvement from the $523,000 net loss in 2002's period. The revenue increase for the second quarter resulted from rising sales to private label customers and that of Rochester Medical-brand products, the company said. The net income surge was due primarily to increased contribution from higher sales, Rochester said. Anthony J. Conway, Rochester president and CEO, said the company had a good second quarter, and was particularly pleased with the initial market interest and acceptance of its advanced antibacterial and hydrophilic catheters.
