Hi-Tech Hose Inc. recently introduced five hose products.
Joining the firm's large line of goods is HT-162, a non-halogenated fire retardant hose made from a thermoplastic elastomer formulation that's reinforced with a wire helix, Michael J. O'Brien, national sales manager for the industrial division, said at the NAHAD meeting. It's the only flexible hose for ducting available on the market that passes both the ASTM flame and smoke standard tests, he said.
Other new products include:
* a thermoplastic polyurethane hose reinforced with a plastic helix, no wire reinforcement and a smooth interior, aimed at a variety of industries including lawn and garden;
* a clear polyvinyl chloride hose reinforced with a PVC helix;
* a single-ply, PVC-coated polyester duct with a PVC wearstrip and an enclosed wire helix that's welded rather than stitched or glued for the heating, cooling and construction markets; and
* a thermoplastic polyurethane reinforced hose with a wire helix.
The Georgetown, Mass.-based flexible hose and ducting manufacturer has been steadily expanding its existing product lines or adding new ones to handle growing customer needs, CEO William G. Mack said.
In brief
Coilhose Pneumatics Inc. has added a Flexeel inner-braided PU air hose, available in lengths of 25, 50 and 100 feet along with bulk reels, to its line of polyurethane products.
The hose is aimed at the industrial, contractor-supply and automotive markets, according to Dick Litle, vice president of sales. ``It will outlast rubber and PVC four to one,'' he said.
It retains its flexibility in subzero temperatures, is easy to rewind, is abrasion-resistant and is stabilized for longer outdoor use, he said.
