BIRMINGHAM, England (April 18)—Goodyear Dunlop U.K. Ltd. is planning to restructure its United Kingdom sales operations at the company's TyreFort headquarters in Birmingham, with the loss of up to 216 jobs, the company said. The sales and marketing departments for Goodyear and Dunlop remained as separate business units since the alliance between the companies three years ago, according to General Manager Andreas Niegsch. "We need to restructure our sales operations in order to become a more flexible, dynamic and responsive organization in a highly competitive marketplace," Niegsch said in a prepared statement. Under the restructuring plan, the firm plans to cut 116 of 440 jobs at TyreFort and about 100 of the firm's 1,700 field operations employees.
