JACKSON, Ga. (April 11)—A fire at the GreenMan Technologies Inc. tire recycling facility in Jackson has idled the waste wire processing portion of the plant, although the company expects that operation to resume business by the end of the month. Tire shredding operations were idled for only 24 hours after the March 31 blaze, according to Chuck Coppa, GreenMan chief financial officer. The fire marshal is still investigating the cause of the fire, but Coppa said it didn't cause any structural damage to the plant or equipment. No one was injured in the incident.
