CHICAGO (March 6)—Custom rubber and plastics molder Rahco Rubber Inc. recently made a $400,000 investment with the purchase of a 660-ton Mapelli rubber molding press, a 150-ton Engle horizontal press and an impact blast cryogenic deflashing system. The company is awaiting delivery and installation of the new machinery at its 60,000-sq.-ft. facility in Des Plaines, Ill., within the next few weeks, co-owners Jack and Stephen Anton said at Rahco's booth at the National Design Engineering Show and Conference, held March 3-6 in Chicago. The equipment purchases will enable the company to make its thermoset rubber, silicone and thermoplastic elastomer goods that are used in various markets, including agricultural, appliance, subsystem, hardware and electronics applications.
