JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (Feb. 10)—Missouri Attorney General Jeremiah W. "Jay" Nixon is suing a waste tire hauler and the owners of a quarry for alleged illegal dumping of about 1 million tires in the quarry in southern Cass County. Nixon seeks an injunction against Harlan and Ronald Limpus, owners of Limpus Quarries, and James D. Robbins of Jim Robbins Co. Inc. to begin immediate removal and disposal of the tires at the site, or else authorization for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to contract for cleanup and charge "reasonable and necessary costs" to Robbins and the Limpuses. The case is before the Cass County Circuit Court.
