WASHINGTON (Jan. 16)—The Rubber Manufacturers Association is part of a coalition of business associations supporting President Bush's economic stimulus package. In a news release, the RMA expressed its unqualified approval of the Bush plan's various provisions. These include a tripling of expense benefits for small businesses to $75,000 and an average tax cut of $1,083 for 92 million taxpayers. The Council of Economic Advisers estimates the tax cut package, if passed, could create 2.1 million jobs over the next three years. The RMA said at least half of its General Products Group members would benefit from the plan.
