BEIJING (Jan. 14)—HPM Corp., a maker of injection molding machines, extrusion systems and die casting equipment, has opened a sales office in Beijing. The office will serve the Chinese and Pacific Rim markets. "The need for HPM products in China is growing as companies providing automotive, industrial and packaging products will become increasingly competitive in global markets," said Gerry Sposato, director of sales and marketing. "By opening this office we will effectively communicate HPM's continued commitment to personal relationships with our customers in China." China imported $2.4 billion worth of machine tools in 2001 and $2.2 billion worth by the end of September 2002, the Taylor's Industrial Services L.L.C. division said.
