FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (Jan. 9)—Conigliaro Industries Inc. has expanded its operation with the launch of a commercial mattress recycling plant, the first of its kind in the U.S. The company, which recycles rubber and urethane along with 148 other materials, recently completed construction of a 2,500-sq.-ft. mattress shredding building located next to its 90,000-sq.-ft. recycling and manufacturing plant on a seven-acre site in Framingham. It also earmarked another approximately 5,000 square feet of its main factory for the mattress recycling operation. In addition, the firm purchased a line of shredding equipment, added six workers and increased its service staff as part of the project.
