HERZOGENAURACH, Germany (Jan. 6)—TaylorMade-adidas Golf, a division of the adidas-Salomon Group, has bought the Maxfli-brand of golf balls and accessories from Dunlop Slazenger Group Ltd. The acquisition helps TaylorMade-adidas Golf strengthen its position as a golf equipment supplier, adidas-Salomon said. The two companies agreed to keep the financial terms confidential. The addition of the Maxfli business will push TaylorMade-adidas Golf's market share in golf balls to 7.5 percent, according to Golf Datatech, from less than 1 percent. Golf ball sales represent about 16 percent of the $7.5 billion global golf equipment market.
