CHICAGO (Dec. 20)—Chemcentral has signed a definitive agreement to buy C.P. Hall Co.'s Specialty Additives business. Terms of the deal, expected to close in early 2003, were undisclosed. The acquisition is part of the distributor's plan to expand its product line of specialty chemicals that offer the potential for higher growth and profitability, said John R. Yanney, Chemcentral president and chief operating officer. C.P. Hall said the divestiture will allow it to focus on its patented materials, applications technologies and ongoing material science innovations in polymer additive chemistries and personal care solutions.
