DAYTON, Ohio (Dec. 16)—Delphi Corp. confirmed it will lay off 750 hourly and salary workers permanently late in January when an undisclosed auto maker discontinues production of an unspecified vehicle. Of the total, 200 of the job eliminations will come at a Vandalia, Ohio, plant which makes air bags, thermoplastic olefin instrument panels, door panels and other door-related components. The remaining 550 workers will be let go from Delphi's Moraine, Ohio, factory which builds air-conditioning compressors.
