ATLANTA (Dec. 6)—J.M. Huber Corp.'s Huber Engineered Materials unit plans to raise prices for silicas and silicates by 7 to 8 percent on average, effective Jan. 1. The increase, the first in more than two years, is being done to help offset rising costs, the company said. Huber's silicas and silicates are used in a variety of applications, including rubber.
