CARY, N.C. (Nov. 26)—Lord Corp. has lured chemicals industry veteran Richard L. McNeel out of retirement to be its president and CEO, effective Dec. 2. McNeel, a group vice president for BP Chemicals until retiring Jan. 1, fills a presidency that has been vacant since May, when Charles J. Hora resigned after 10 years in the position and 15 years with the firm. Lord Chairman Sheldon A. Buckler had assumed the duties of president during the interim. McNeel brings experience from a 33-year career in the chemical industry, most with Amoco Chemical and Amoco Corp. and including senior executive positions in Amoco polymers and performance products. "Over his career, McNeel has established a proven record of leadership and growing businesses and commercializing innovative products in a global environment," Buckler said.
