BOSTON—U.S. and European antitrust agencies have initiated a joint investigation into alleged price-fixing within the carbon black industry, according to Cabot Corp., Columbian Chemicals Co. and Degussa A.G., three of the companies involved. In all, authorities asked six companies to provide access to documents, according to a European Commission spokeswoman.
