KRANJ, Slovenia (Nov. 14)—Goodyear's Engineered Products division is expanding its Kranj manufacturing facility to add production of automotive air-conditioning hose. The project will include the addition of an application center to develop and test new products, expedite the firm's response time and improve day-to-day logistics, said Jim Milk, Engineered Products managing director in Europe. The cost wasn't disclosed. The new process, an environmentally protective automotive air conditioning hose, probably will create additional jobs at the plant, the company indicated. The firm hopes to complete the expansion in the third quarter of 2003. It's the second major investment Goodyear has made in a month in its automotive original equipment hose business. The company recently began construction of a radiator and heater hose facility in Mexico.
