SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (Nov. 7)—Federal-Mogul Corp. reported a net loss of $73.3 million for the third quarter vs. a loss of slightly more than $810 million during the same three-month period of 2001. Sales during the most recent quarter were $1.29 billion, a 4-percent increase from year-ago numbers. For the nine-month period, the automotive supplier, which has been in Chapter 11 proceedings for the past year, posted a net loss of $1.53 billion compared to a loss of $889.8 million last year. Sales year-to-date fell only slightly to $4.13 billion from $4.16 billion last year.
