LAS VEGAS (Nov. 6)—The Tire Industry Association, hoping to improve the tire industry's image with the consuming public, has devised a four-pronged strategic plan that will include the creation of a certified store accreditation that will encompass a range of best practice guidelines. Announced at the International Tire Expo in Las Vegas, TIA's strategic plan covers a multitude of new initiatives grouped under four primary categories: government relations, public relations, member services and education and training. The strategic plan is the culmination of weeks of intensive work by the 12-member strategic planning committee, and sets out clearly TIA's goals for the coming years.
