Yokohama delays price hike
FULLERTON, Calif.-Yokohama Tire Corp. delayed a tire price hike because of inventory problems caused by the recent West Coast port shutdown.
It planned to raise prices for medium duty truck, off-the-road, light truck commercial, consumer passenger and light truck tires on Nov. 1. The boost is delayed until Dec. 1, the firm said.
Farrel to buy Skinner assets
ANSONIA, Conn.-Farrel Corp. said it has agreed to buy technology and other assets of Skinner Engine Co.'s polymer mixer business.
The deal will bolster Farrel's batch mixer technology, products and customer base, said Rolf K. Liebergesell, Farrel chairman, CEO and president.
Titan posts loss in period
QUINCY, Ill.-Titan International Inc. had a net loss of $17.7 million during the third quarter on sales of $104.7 million, the company reported Oct. 31.
Year-to-date, the company reported net sales of $354.2 million, down less than 1 percent from 2001.
