MEDINA, Ohio—RPM Inc.´s board of directors has named Frank C. Sullivan CEO and Ronald A. Rice and P. Kelly Tompkins senior vice presidents.
Sullivan replaces Thomas C. Sullivan, his father, who retired after 31 years as chief executive but remains on the board of directors as non-executive chairman. James A. Karman also retired as RPM´s vice chairman but will stay on the board.
Frank Sullivan, who became a member of RPM´s corporate team in 1989, will continue as president and chief operating officer. He previously served as director of corporate development before becoming chief financial officer for six years. He was appointed president in 1999 and chief operating officer in 2001.
Rice was named senior vice president, administration, and will continue as assistant secretary, a position he´s held since 1999. Tompkins will serve as senior vice president while continuing as general counsel and secretary, posts he´s occupied since 1998.
Thomas Sullivan joined RPM as a divisional sales manager in 1961, eventually advancing to vice president, executive vice president and president. He was named chairman and CEO following the death of his father, Frank, in 1971.
Karman started at the company in 1963, serving as treasurer before progressing through a series of posts, including president from 1978 to 1999, before he became vice chairman.
