Improved Materials Strategies Inc. has announced the successful development, testing and application of its high-performance Surface Modified Silicon Carbide Polymer Matrix Composite additives. Testing has shown that IMS´ SPMC additives significantly reduce friction and abrasion weight loss when added to polymers and elastomers without adversely affecting the physical properties of the host material, the company said. SPMC additives are available in several grades, each engineered for specific requirements of the operative applications, including those for process agents, coatings and linings, polyurethane and belting.
