MALCOLM, Iowa (Oct. 23)—ITWC Inc. has received the Venture Award from the Iowa Area Development Group. Given to select Iowa firms in recognition of their growth and achievement in the business community, award winners demonstrate the ability to overcome adversity, adapt, innovate and seize opportunity, the agency said. Darrel N. Heetland, CEO of TIP Rural Electric Cooperative in Brooklyn, Iowa, nominated ITWC, writing that the maker of prepolymers and processing equipment has outgrown two locations in Malcolm and relocated to larger quarters in Brooklyn. "To do this, a person has to be innovative and have good leadership," Heetland wrote. ITWC President Walt Smith will receive the award at a December meeting of Iowa Rural Electric Cooperatives in Des Moines, Iowa.
