ANTRIM, Ireland (Oct. 22)—Schrader Electronics Ltd.'s Generation 3 tire pressure monitor transmitter, which employs rubber valve stems produced by sister division Schrader-Bridgeport International Inc., is greatly reduced in size from its Gen 2 predecessor at only 26 grams in weight vs. 35 grams, including the tire pressure valve. The new transmitter features a detachable valve stem, lower case height and width and a flexible case. Gen 3 also features a smaller battery, the option to transmit temperature data, and compatibility with Gen 2 transmitters and with Ford Common Specification requirements. The new transmitter's enhanced radio frequency features include an integral loop antenna, no connection to the valve stem, lower cost and lower power, and both AM and FM availability, Schrader said.
